I was a boy scout for 24 hours this weekend. My boy is a boy scout, and they had a parent-child scouting experience mini-camp from friday, 19:30 until saturday, same time. After all the parents had been initiated into scouts-for-a-day, (I got to raise the flag!) and we had all drawn our name-tags, the fun began. It was almost dark, and the boys had to go make tents in their dorm-room. The parents were told they would be doing 'something similar' and we were grouped in threes and fours and given huge boxes, and told they held tents, and were led to a clearing in the forest where we were to set up the tents, so we could sleep in them that ni

My sons went off to school today, with the eldest especially horrified that there was to be a fruit-tasting class :) he hates fruit. I invented this class for him especially for april 1st. I hope he has a good time :lol: In discussion with said eldest son, age 9, he noted that it is necessary for someone to feel emotionally involved with the subject of a joke in order for it to be funny.
